A Year Wiser

I’m 28 today! That sounds so old. I still feel like I’m about 21 and not a day older. Probably behave that way too.

My 27th year was an interesting one to say the least. I changed many things, tried new ones and discovered the things that I’m really passionate about and want with my life. I’ve also come to terms with the fact that if I want something it’s up to me to achieve it, blaming others or expecting others to do something for me isn’t going to make me happy. My life is my responsibility. I travelled, made new friends and returned home to Australia. I also realised that I want sport to play a larger role in my life. Hence the larger amount of training recently.

For my 28th year I hope for it to be the best one yet. I want to do triathlons, run a marathon, spend time with my family and friends, try new things, travel, write, do good, and have a fantastic time throughout. Cheers to me.

Tomorrow I’m doing triathlon. Yay. I’m anxious, excited and curious. Anxious because I just want to get in there and do it; excited because the last triathlon I did was four years ago; and, curious to see how I go. We dropped off the bike in the transition area today so it’s ready for the 7am start tomorrow. I’m definitely not looking forward to the 5am wake up but it’s going to be nice to then have the entire day to relax.

Here’s my gear for tomorrow:
