Winter Mornings

I love winter on the Gold Coast. It’s sunny and still warm enough to head out in shorts and a singlet (with a cardigan on hand just in case). The only difference between winter and summer is the temperature, when you get out of the sun, and into a bit of wind, there is a light chill factor. Not that it stops people from sunbathing, surfing and frolicking around in itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny bikinis.

We headed for the park in Burleigh (our fave spot!), started with a power walk and then grabbed a table by a barbecue and cooked up susages and eggs for breakfast. Jack was a darling and was happy to get lots of cuddles from grandma – at least when I was willing to let go off him myself!

In June the weather is still fairly mild and pleasant, the nights are getting colder, but it’s still a good time to make the most of the great outdoors. Food tastes better al fresco too, so does the coffee – there;s a little corner spot, Nook, which serves delicious lattes.

Now I’m ready for a power nap.
