First Run Post Marathon + Award

I went for my first post marathon run today. It wasn’t long; much shorter than expected actually. Ten minutes. I was aiming for twenty. But when I still felt a tingle in my right quad and left ankle I figured it was better to slow down to a walk than risk a long term injury. I don’t think it’s anything serious, just the short term side effect of Sunday’s feat. Tomorrow I will give the run another go, gently of course, and maybe use the bike at the gym. I’d like to get outside and do some cycling but that’s going to wait for another few days for various reasons. It did feel fantastic to be running though, even if it was only ten minutes.

On another note, Su at Cheekyness has given me a blogger award. Thank you Su. I’m still not sure how these blogger awards work but it sure put a smile on my face this morning.

So here are my responses for the 5books/films/tv shows that I’ve experienced in the last 12 months.

1-       True Blood – I think I’ve become obsessed with this television show. I was actually a little unconvinced when I first heard about this show but than a friend of my recommended it and after the first episode I was hooked. I borrowed the first two seasons from the library and watched them until the early hours of the morning, purchased the third season the day it came out on DVD in Australia, and am now engrossed in watching the fourth season that started airing online at the end of June.

2-      The Vampire Diaries – Yeah ok, I have a thing for vamps. Honestly, it’s the love story that I’m a sucker for, and in this one who can resist the totally irresistible Salvatore brothers who hold Elaine’s heart. I can’t wait for season three to air in Australia.

3-      Harlan Coben – ok, I’m cheating that’s an author, but anything I read by Coben I absolutely love. He’s a master at story-telling and keeping the reader turning the page well past midnight.

4-      Twilight series – Vampires again. Maybe I’m just a little bit obsessed. But I just had to know how this love story ended and I loved reading Breaking Dawn. This was another series that I was a latecomer to – skeptical at first – but once I got into I couldn’t put the books down. The films are great too.

5-      Rizzoli & Isles – I started watching this a few weeks ago and I really like the characters in this series although they are not entirely based on Tess Gerritsen’s characters of Maura Isles and Jane Rizzoli. Actually they are extremely different but the show is fun, and it’s great to see the women doing all the crime solving. I highly recommend Gerritsen’s books too.

I probably could put a few more up here but the deal was five. By the way I watch all these on my laptop as I don’t really like sitting on the couch and watching television with people around me. I prefer to snuggle up in bed or sit on the balcony, put on the headphones and escape from all things real for a an hour or two.

I’m passing this award to all the bloggers who are reading this J
