Getting Spoilt

Oh my I cannot believe that yet another month is behind us. It’s the end of April and I’m wondering whether we skipped March somewhere. Like seriously, does someone have our clocks on fast forward or is this a natural part of getting older?
Speaking of getting older, I’m a year older today. 29. Wow. That’s a little scary. The other day when someone asked me my age I wanted to say 27 but realised that was true a couple years ago. I have 365 days and then it’s bye bye twenties. I’m going to make 29 a good year, try to become a better person all round, achieve the important goals I’ve set and enter the next decade with a grin on my face and success all around. One’s hoping anyway 🙂
I did get a little bit spoilt this year on the bday too, sensibly of course:
Friday night dinner with friends @ Bugzies Seafood Restaurant in Broadbeach (yummy salt & pepper squid with chips and rocket salad)
followed by cocktails and dancing with my best friends at Jupiters Casino Atrium Bar…
the girls got me Lorna Jane running pants (I absolutely love Lorna Jane clothing…love it!), and a Rubik’s Cube from Jarek (I’ve wanted one for like forever) – also got Breaking Dawn dvd, the fourth in the Twilight series – not sure i should be admitting to that at my age 🙂
he also got me gorgeous roses and a personal training diary (now I can keep better track of my training and nutrition),
the inside: plenty of room for recording my workouts and meals (no more lying to myself about how much I train or eat ;))
Jarek took me out for a Teppenyaki lunch yesterday (yep, I love seafood)
then in the evening we had a picnic on the living room floor and watched Romancing the Stone – it’s an oldie but a goodie
it was the loveliest way to spend my birthday weekend…together…we so need to do this more often

And the April Fun Challenge from Run To The Finish has come to an end. While I didn’t do something fun every single day, life got the better of me, I have to admit that it has been a fun month in general and has taught me that it’s important to inject a little bit of fun in your life on a regular basis. I’m going to try and do something fun at least once a week and make an effort to laugh a lot more…apparently it will make me look and feel healthier and younger…
