Sunday Sessions

Thought for the day…

“Keep away from people who belittle your ambitions, little people always do that…but the really great make you believe that you too can be great.” – Mark Twain

This week has been pretty ordinary. Surprisingly my mind and body feel refreshed. I’m more lethargic when I don’t do anything, so filling up the week with training, meeting friends and working on personal pursuits keeps me energised.

This weekend is a long weekend here in Australia, the Queen’s Birthday tomorrow. Well not her actual birthday but the day we have a public holiday thanks to her. So thanks, I’m glad to have an extra day off, especially a Monday. More time to train, catch up with friends and recharge my batteries for the new week.

The first five months of this year were shocking when it came to training. I had other things on my mind and neglected to keep up running. I started feeling like crap for it. Now, having been back to training for the past three weeks, I’m back to feeling good. Three weeks is all it took. I’m even more surprised that my fitness has not diminished as much as I assumed it might. I guess it comes down to how long you’ve trained for. The longer you’ve been doing something, the easier it becomes to get back to where you left at. The only thing to worry about is the injuries, so it’s better to start slow.
