Three Things Thursday

2013
Seriously, I’m still trying to comprehend that it’s a new year. 2012 went by so quickly. I don’t know whether it was because there was so much happening or whether someone up above has time on fast forward. Either way, I love the beginning of a new year. I love resolutions and setting goals for the next twelve months. While last year I didn’t achieve all the goals I set, this year I’ve set the goals and added monthly tasks and targets to make sure that I achieve all the goals on my new to do list. Bring it on! That’s my motto for this year. There’s so much I want to do. I can only hope I’ll have the opportunity and means to move forward.

Strength and flexibility
Last December, I proved to myself that I have the endurance to race for seven hours. What I learnt though is that my strength and flexibility have suffered. Both flexibility and strength are important for good health and fitness. One of my goals for this year is to make yoga and weight training a regular part of my routine. I’ve done one circuit workout this week and a few salutations. It’s back to training as of this Saturday.

Motivation
I can’t get motivated to train at the moment. My body and mind are still in recovery mode. Before Christmas getting up at half past four was a joy and at the moment the idea seems like torture. I’ve been enjoying sleep ins over the silly season and now that it’s time to get back to training it’s going to take an extra few days to get back to the routine. But it will happen. It’s hard when there’s no race to train for so I’ve signed myself up for the Robina Triathlon this month. No excuses now.
