Training In Review

My favourite place at the moment:
Burleigh Heads
Mon 3/12
AM: 25 min swim (1.2km) [500m free – 3x100m (25easy/25hard/25easy/25hard) – 350pull – 50 kick]
PM: 28 min run (5.03km) – 4x3min @ 12k/hr
Not happy about the calf injury. Hopefully a bit of ice, voltaren cream and rest will fix this up by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.

Tue 4/12 – Fri 6/12
PM: 20 min walk 
Injury and migraines will do that to you. Definitely not good for next week but I’m hoping the rest has given me a full recovery and I’ll race to the best of my ability next week. My main aim is to finish. It’s a long distance. A first for me. So no pressure.

Sat 7/12
AM: 50 min beach walk
PM: 20 min walk with Kola
In the morning we headed for the Broadwater to trial my wetsuit. I loved it. The buoyancy was good. The suit was comfortable. I felt warm. Overall I’d give the suit an 8/10. 

Sun 8/12
AM: 93 min cycle (34.34km)
PM: 25 min walk with Kola
Loved the ride this morning. We headed out an hour later than planned so the roads were busier but fortunately the temperature was in the low twenties. Need to remember to take a sports drink rather than water on rides longer than an hour, especially during summer. Felt like I really needed the electrolytes and sugar by the time I got up the hill on my street. We ended up napping for two hours after breakfast. Bliss.
