Merry Christmas!

Christmas time has arrived once again. The past two days have been revolved around food. Amazing food, heavy food, delicious food, too much food. But hey it’s Christmas.

In Poland, we start with Christmas Eve which is probably the most important part of Christmas where families sit down to supper once they see the first star in the sky. There tends to be about twelve different dishes on the table ranging from dumplings with sauerkraut and mushrooms, borsch with ravioli, poppy seed cake, fish and lots of other bits and pieces.

On Christmas Day it starts again with breakfast and continues with lunch and dinner with additional meat dishes. Boxing Day involves even more eating and visiting family and friends. Gotta love it.

In regards to running, well over the past couple of days there has been none. I’ll get back into it all after the jolly season ends, for now it’s important to make the most of it all especially when there’s lot of nice presents. My partner was kind enough to by me a pair of Nike running pants for winter. Yey!

Hope you are all having a fantastic Christmas!

  1. For getting stuffed with yummy food I definitely recommend. The downside is the cold though or worse when it’s raining, the temp hits +4 degrees for a couple days, and everything starts thawing.
I can’t wait to get back to the warm Australian Christmas – though then I’ll probably miss the Polish style, haha.
