Summer Lovin’

DSC_0110

I love summer. What’s not to love, warm sand, blue skies, cool ocean and gorgeous sunshine adding a bit of colour (or too much) to your skin.

Today is a scorcher. The car thermometer was showing 35C at 9am! Some inland parts of the Gold Coast even recorded 42C+. It’s days like these I wish we had an air conditioner or a pool in the backyard.

We woke up at 4am today and headed for the beach. I bought a new camera a year ago and have been wanting to do some sunrise photography since then. Unfortunately, I’ve been lazy about getting up early and so it hadn’t happened. Until today that is. It seems that this pregnancy is making me motivated to do so much more, it’s great, I’m loving it.

At 4:45am we arrived at Burleigh Point and strolled along the hillside before finding a spot to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. The early wake up was completely worth it.

Afterwards we did a 50 minute walk which included hills and catching glimpses of early morning wildlife. Followed by a scrambled eggs in the park along with a yummy coffee, and then another 45 minute walk along the beach. We were home by 9am which is when the heat really started to show it’s strength.

Now I’m sitting on the tiles at home trying to keep cool and figure out what I feel like doing for the rest of the day.
