Training Week 1

Sun 1st Jan – 6.5km run (at the beach) + 3.5km walk (at the beach)
Mon 2nd Jan – 25 min Kettlebell workout + 20 min boxing + 15 min stretch
Tue 3rd Jan – rest 
Wed 4th Jan – 30min interval on treadmill (5.5km)
Thu 5th Jan – rest
Fri 6th Jan – rest
Sat 7th Jan – 20 min walk
*This was my last week of house sitting which also means my last week slacking off with training. During last Sunday’s run I also felt pain in my right shin so I figured it was better to take it easier than to suffer an injury so early in the year. For today’s lack of effort I have no excuse though it has made me realise that training first thing in the morning is the way to go because towards the end of the day I tend to be preoccupied with other activities. I have a triathlon next week – given the past several weeks I have no expectations as to my performance other than to finish. 
I’m also signed up for the Twilight Half Marathon in Brisbane on 18th March. That leaves me with 10 weeks to train and this time around I would really really like to put in more effort and actually follow a training program so I can meet my goal of setting a PB. Fingers crossed I stay motivated and life doesn’t get in the way.

  1. Kasiu a jak masz rozpisany trening przygotowujący cię do polmaratonu? Ja staram sie ćwiczyć z planami treningowymi z adidas micoach. Mam biegać 3 x w tygodniu po około 25-40 min ( w tym interwaly)i raz długi bieg ponad 1 godz. M.

  2. Moniczko ja bede robic cos podobnego. W poniedzialki z pruboje robic interwaly – albo 8×400 lub 5 x 800 lub 5 x 1km i co tydzien zwiekszac tempo, w srody biegac rownym tempem pomiedzy 30-50 minut zaleznosci od wolnego czasu a w soboty bieg dlugi to tak jak ty, ponad godzine, chcialabym zwikeszac o 5-10 minut w kazdym tygodniu aby pozniej moc biegac okolo dwoch godzin. Mam nadzieje ze wszystko wyjdzie i bede tego sie trzymac ale zemna ostatnio trudno jak chodzi o trening – haha.
