2010 Where Did You Go?

2010 was an unexpected year – filled with loss, joy, sorrow, travels, and so much more that it’s difficult to find words for. Plans were made and broken, people changed, grew together and grew apart. 2010 has been a year that none of us could have predicted. So here’s a quick rundown:

-Jarek proposed at the beginning of the year.

-We had a death in Jarek’s family which was unexpected and heartbreaking.

-I started my master’s degree in communications.

-Jarek and I traveled to Italy for a long weekend of sightseeing.

-We canceled/postponed our wedding which was meant to be in September.

-I spent a week in Egypt with my friend during the summer. It was fantastic

-I ran my best 10km with a time of 49:36.

-We purchased a newer car.

-I ran my first half marathon in September with a time of 1:48:44

-I competed in about 7 fun runs this year.

-There were a few publication credits.

-I read and wrote lots but not as much as I would have liked.

-I made friends with some new and interesting people.

-I stressed like crazy (something I have to work on in 2011)

A lot happened this year. Some goals were achieved while others were either forgotten or ignored. Today as I think back over the past 364 days, I find it difficult to believe they have gone by so quickly. It only seems like yesterday that were coming back from a holiday in Australia on the 1st of January – it’s hard to believe that it was a full year ago. But it has and there’s no point in looking back wondering ‘what if’ or ‘I should’ve or could’ve’. We can’t change the past but we can certainly make a positive difference in our present.

So to everyone who comes by – I hope you all had a great 2010 and I wish all the best for 2011; may it be the year that brings lots of happiness, good health, success and fun for everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
