The Omnivore’s Dilemma

One journalist’s journey through the industrial and natural world of food… and my is there a difference. We don’t see it. Most of us are oblivious to it. We enter a store pick up a tray of packaged meat, fill the plastic bag with already picked tomatoes or cherries. We grab a carton of milk… Read More

Farmer’s Market

This morning Jarek and I decided to head down to the local farmer’s market. After recently reading way too much nasty stuff on how are food is produced I’m growing hesitant to shopping at large supermarkets. Do I really want to eat hormone swarming pesticide infested food? Ok, so maybe that’s a slight exaggeration and… Read More

Kettlebell Training

I decided to have some fun with yesterday’s kettlebell training and use my iPhone for photos and film. Here are a couple of the exercises we did. Today, all my muscles feel tender, and from the quick boxing session we did, my knuckles are bruised. Small price to pay for a fun cross training workout.

Suunto Quest

I am in love with my Suunto Quest. It’s great being able to see how hard my heart is working and how fast (or slow) I’m running. Yesterday we drove down to Broadbeach and ran along the Esplanade, highrises on one side and the deep ocean on the other. Families were enjoying BBQ’s, kids building… Read More

2012 Bring It On!

I have a love and hate relationship with new year’s resolutions – not sure if you can have a relationship with new year’s resolutions but you know what I mean. I love setting goals, the hate enters the equation when I haven’t been able to meet those goals. The reasons for not meeting those goals… Read More

2011 in review

I must say 2011 was lazier than any other year in a while. Sure, I trained and I worked but not to the same extremes as other years. Placing 2011 in the category of a rest year wouldn’t be too far from the truth. My body and mind must have needed it after four years… Read More

Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas with family and friends. Enjoy the food, make the most of the free time whether it’s relaxing or fitting in some extra miles, spend time with your loved ones and spoil each other in the best ways possible whatever they may be for you. I hope you all… Read More

Time

It’s December already. How is that even possible? I swear it was just the beginning of November and thoughts of Christmas and New Year were still more than a couple weeks away. I wasn’t thinking about Christmas shopping and house sitting, and trying to keep up the energy with all the Christmas parties around and… Read More

The Next Two Months

With only eight weeks till the next triathlon, I need to get it together when it comes to training. No more days off because I don’t feel like cycling, or opting for the run instead of the swim session. After Sunday, here are the things I know that need to happen: SWIM– more open water… Read More
