Challenge Yourself

Run To The Finish is one of my favourite sites about running and healthy living. In 2012, there were some great monthly challenges to take part in including 30 min of yoga among others. While the habit didn’t stick for more than the month it made me realise how fabulous yoga is for the body.… Read More

Resting up

The festivities are over quicker than they get started. Christmas rolled around with preparations going full steam ahead weeks before the actual day. The build up to the silly season is the most exciting part. Once you get to Christmas, you’re too exhausted to enjoy it. At least that’s how it feels in my household.… Read More

Canberra 70.3 Recap

Goal for Canberra 70.3 – finish the race grinning = Achieved!!! Crossing the finish line was an extraordinary feeling. It was over. Done. Finished. Finally. Oh my God, I did it. There were times on the course where I was ready to pull out. Fortunately, I didn’t. I wanted the medal and the pride of… Read More

The night before

We’re in Canberra. In less than eight hours I have to get up. In less than eleven I’ll be racing my first 70.3 distance. I’m scared. My body is sending out signals that I’m nervous. I’m trying to relax my mind but I’m still getting butterflies in my stomach, shortness of breath, almost like a… Read More

Three Things Thursday

Family and friends, I couldn’t live without you. Thank you for supporting me in everything that I do and being there when I need you. I know I can be a handful at the best of times. But I don’t know where I’d be without you. Tonight I took one of my dearest friends out… Read More

Blue Seventy

Until I tried one I thought they were over rated. I didn’t know what I was talking about. I still probably don’t but I’m loving my new addition: a blue seventy wetsuit. It’s still early days but I feel more confident about the swim in Canberra already. Now I just need to practice putting the… Read More

Finding the suit that fits

Word of advice: avoid trying on wetsuits in summer. You’ll sweat, struggle and be ready to swim in your swimsuit regardless of the water temperature. Ok, so maybe not the last one but believe me, it’ll be a more pleasant experience if there’s a chill in the air rather than 30 plus degrees outside and… Read More

No, no, no

*(^^$*%&#@ every expletive is coming to mind right now. Running on the treadmill this afternoon I think I pulled my calf muscle. It hurts. With each step it feels like a knife being jammed into it. I cannot afford this injury. I’m #&*^@! pissed. It’s less than two weeks till the big race. It’s going… Read More
